Lauren Apfel has a lot of degrees and a lot of kids. Originally from New York, but now living in Glasgow, Scotland (thanks to the Brit she married), she has graduated from Yale, LSE and Oxford and has a ten year old, an eight year old and four year old twins. A classicist turned stay-at-home mom, Lauren thinks less about the Greeks these days and more about parenting, the tragedy and comedy alike.

Her writing has appeared in The New York Times, The Guardian, The Washington Post, TIME,  Tablet Magazine and McSweeney’s Internet Tendency, among other places. She is the debate editor and a contributing blogger for Brain, Child Magazine.

Lauren is also the author of The Advent of Pluralism: Diversity and Conflict in the Age of Sophocles (OUP 2011).

  4. I found your blog thanks to your Time Magazine online post about being proud to be a Mommy blogger…Heck I am trying to get my wife to start blogging, so congrats to you! I do have my 13 year old up and running with her own blog already so that is a start with my kids.
